Maintenance

Maintenance Tips:

  •  Add more plants: The more the merrier! Try to cover at least a third of the pond’s surface area with water lilies. Also, make sure you have plenty of submersible or floating plants in the pond.
  • Trim your water plants:  Consistent maintenance, including deadheading old blooms, removing dead leaves and excess growth will get rid of nutrients in the pond, decreasing the possibility of algae blooms.
  • Feed your fish: But try not to over feed them. The heat of the summer can lead to oxygen depletion and possible algae blooms. Try not to feed your fish more than they can eat in a period of two to three minutes.
  • Fertilize water plants: Fertilizing water plants will provide maximum growth and blooming during the water garden season.
